Arlyn is a 40-acre farm in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, bordering Ribbon Ridge, with 20 acres planted to Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Gamay noir. Farmed biodynamically by owner Janis Pate, foreman Ulises Ayala and a small but fabulous crew, the farm is home to a small squad of heritage animals to complement the vines. Mangalitsa / Tamworth pigs, Scottish Highland cattle, Jacob and Valais Blacknose sheep, Boer goats, runner ducks, rabbits, honey bees and vineyard dogs will mill about during your visit. Regenerative and dry farming with the utmost care for all that grows there is at the heart of all that Arlyn does.
Janis is honored to have Arlyn wines crafted by Thomas Savre and winery team at Lingua Franca and now with the 2022 vintage the incredible Wynne Peterson-Nedry. The spirit of these wonderful humans shows through to bottle.
Private tastings are hosted at the vineyard by appointment, typically accompanied by vineyard pup, Miss Cooper.
