Thanks for clicking and we hope it will lead to some sipping with us! Our first experience in Oregon wine country was a serendipitous suggestion. We were visiting Portland in 2008 and had an afternoon to kick around. Our niece suggested we go wine tasting in the Willamette Valley. Much to our delight and surprise we discovered just how incredible Oregon wines, and the Willamette Valley wine region, are. It wasn’t long after that, we planted a notion of moving to Oregon and growing some grapes of our own. Fast forward a few years and here we are!
Anacréon sits on 25 acres in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. A true ‘boutique’ winery by definition, we produce less than 500-600 cases per vintage. Our focus is on combining the magic of the terroir and microclimate of the Chehalem Mountains with the highest quality winemaking practices. Showcasing our beautiful wines in a relaxed and fun environment, on our stunning property, allows us to create something very personal and special for our guests We would love to have you stop by (yup, got to make an appointment cause we might be doing laundry if you just stop by), hangout, have some wine, maybe see how your Bocce Ball skills are and hopefully experience the same magic we feel in Oregon wine country.
What or Who is Anacréon, you ask? Anacréon was a prolific Greek poet (582-485 BC). Known for his poems about love and wine, Anacréon captured the light and beauty of these timeless elements in an elegant way, one that has been revered by many poets and writers since. Like the poet, we see love and wine going hand-in-hand. Anacréon spoke to us as a perfect namesake for the special hillside we call home.
Cheers!
